The breakthrough came with a novel approach: separating the mold and modifying the pouring sequence of silicone/TPE materials. This method, initially tested on the 172 body mold, produced a lighter and softer doll, albeit with challenges such as additional mold lines and occasional material shortages. Refining the Process

Team identified key improvements, including the elimination of non-woven fabrics to enhance the foam core’s direct contact with silicone, and optimizing the material pouring techniques. With the introduction of W.R. 4.0, Starpery has made remarkable strides in reducing the weight of their dolls — the 172 body model saw a reduction from over 35kg to 29kg, and the 151 model from 25kg to approximately 19kg. Moreover, the overall softness of the silicone dolls was enhanced, surpassing even that of TPE dolls in terms of both surface and internal softness.
